Ductless Mini-Splits in Birmingham, AL
Ductless mini-split heating and cooling for additions, bonus rooms, garages and homes without ductwork across Greater Birmingham.
For the rooms the ductwork never reached.
A mini-split pairs an outdoor unit with one or more indoor units, connected by a small line set through the wall. Each indoor unit heats and cools its own space, with no ducts to run.
They suit a converted garage, a room over the garage, a sunroom, or an older house where adding ductwork would mean opening walls.
Mini-split installation is done by Autumn Air, which holds Alabama HVAC license #16090 and has served Greater Birmingham since 2016.
Where a mini-split makes sense.
Additions and conversions
A new room that the existing system was never sized to serve.
Rooms that never keep up
The bedroom that is always warmer, or the room at the far end of a long duct run.
Homes without ducts
Older houses heated by other means, where ductwork would be disruptive or impractical.
Room-by-room control
Each indoor unit has its own setting, so a room nobody is using does not have to be conditioned.
What the estimate visit settles.
Before any quote, we work through:
- How much heating and cooling each room needs
- Where the indoor and outdoor units can go
- Whether one zone or several makes sense
- How it runs alongside your existing system
- What the installation involves, start to finish
Mini-split questions.
Does a mini-split heat as well as cool?
Yes. A mini-split is a heat pump, so it heats in winter and cools in summer.
Do I need one outdoor unit for every room?
Not necessarily. Some systems run several indoor units from one outdoor unit. The estimate visit sorts out which fits your house.
Is it cheaper than adding ductwork?
It can be for a single room or an addition, but it depends on the house. We price the options that are realistic for yours.
